Verbal-Linguistic Center: • Students write a story in which the main character is an endangered animal who is trying to teach his family why the species is endangered. • Students debate with their center group about the issue of wild animals being captured and put in a zoo.

Strategy 1: Multiple Intelligences–Focused Centers The main purpose of these centers, which each focus on one intelligence, is to awaken and strengthen the different intelligences. The activities and assignments provide students with opportunities to explore each intelligence in their own way, at their own pace. These centers can be especially helpful as you introduce the intelligences. Strategy 2: Curriculum-Based Centers These centers address curriculum information and skills, allowing students to learn and review through one or two intelligences.

Depending on the center activities, have students rotate from center to center every 15 to 30 minutes.
